LAHORE: Eight members of the same family were murdered in the Johar Town area of the city during the early hours of Tuesday.
Police said the victims' throats were slit prior to them being shot.
Lahore's police chief, Shafiq Ahmad Chaudhry told media the murders could be a result of an enmity. ''The savagery of the murders illustrates it could be a revenge.''
''We recovered a white chemical from near the bodies which was used in the murders. The chemical has been sent to a lab for analysis,''Chaudhry said.
A team headed by the DIG, has been constituted to probe the murders.
