ISLAMABAD: The Special Court set up for conducting treason trial against former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has summoned Inter-services intelligence (ISI) Chief Lt. General Zaheer ul Islam to get cognizance of security threats to he accused.
Musharraf escaped indictment on Tuesday due to interior ministry's security alert pointing out serious security threat to the retired general.
It said militants linked with the Taliban might target Musharraf.
However, the militant organization said it had no plan to attack Musharraf during its one-month ceasefire.
Sources told Geo News that interior Secretary had sent the letter to the ISI Director General in which the special court asked him to appear before the three-member bench on Thursday.
